NGD! Ibanez RG927 (crappy cell pics, f you hurricane sandy!)

I've been waiting for a guitar like this forever!

When I very first started playing guitar, when I was picking out my very first guitar I bought an Ibanez Gio, because it looked like the guitar(to me at the time) that my favorite guitarist at the time played, Wes Borland!

although i dont really listen to them much anymore, I've just always wanted an Ibanez 7 string, and to finally own one is amazing. I have 5 other Ibanez's but oddly enough I never liked the wizard necks. But they work so much better on 7 strings I wish I made this decision sooner!

I don't think I have to really explain what the guitar's made out of and I plan on writing a review of it if no one else has, but I have to say, even though its an Indo made premium, it by far is the greatest guitar I have ever played. Not even just owned, and that says alot against my vintage Ibanez's and my Gibsons. All it needs is some better zebra coil looking pickups and I'm set!

Originally I just wanted something with passive pickups to go with my Agile Interceptor Elite 727(with those stupid emg routes), but it has clearly become my number one, and now im deciding which guitars I'm selling to go full prestige!

Pictures!(yeah crappy in room, bad lighting cell phone pictures.) I'm on Long Island in the middle of a hurricane at the moment, but I do have the sweetwater pictures, since my specific guitar is actually their stock photo for the model! Sorry for just attaching the files, I'm still learning the whole posting photo thing

its so black!

thats the only thing i dislike about it. but soon itll get a set of zebra coiled pickups and that will brighten the whole thing up. I had the same issue of the guitar being too black with my ibanez ic400, but i put creme pickup rings that match the creme binding, and i have to say, it looks classy as f&%^!

SLICK!

On my part I've ordered an Ibanez RGD7421 few weeks ago and I should receive it this week and your new guitar day makes me cry cause I'm so tired of waiting for this Ibanez seven strings, it looks so riiiiight. Congrats man!

How much more black could it be? And the answer is none more black.

Congratulations on a fine new 7-string. Ibanez is doing something right over there in Indonesia - great quality coming out these days, IMO. Perfect for cranking up some doooom during Sandy.

also, i have to give some credit to the dudes at fedex. usually everyones always late on deliveries, but for whatever reason, they actually got me this guitar two days early. which is perfect, because otherwise it was supposed to be delivered the same day as the hurricane!

That's some kick ass ish right there!

How do you like that Agile?

Re: NGD! Ibanez RG927 (crappy cell pics, f you hurricane sandy!)

its got a big thick neck, and i love the weight of it. plus the 27 inch scale is awesome. but i hate the emg 707s in it, and the frets are ****. almost immediately the strings wore grooves into it, and the dude in charge of rondo said it was clear coat rubbing off, but theres no clear coat and now i got flat spots. its a better than average guitar, but im sticking to my ibanez and trying to get a universe green dot next

Ah that's too bad. I had wondered how good they were for the money.

well, my rhythm guitarist bought the same agile as me, except his was lefty, red, and had an ebony neck. he played his just as much as mine and he never had any issues with the fretwire. for the money theyre pretty good but theres always the chance you could get a clunker. honestly, unless you want the extended scale and thicker neck, youd probably be better off getting an older ibanez, like a 7321 without the neck binding or even a newer one with the binding. the older ones without the binding are japanese, the newer ones are indonesian
