I've always wanted one of these to play with. Forum bro Trey gave me the opportunity to try one out on the cheap. (Thanks Trey.)
This is a 2004 MIK ICX120BK. On one hand, it's the bottom feeder. On the other, it's perfect for mods and messin' about. I love it. I like that it's MIK, rather than China, Indonesia, or Taiwan. I like Korean made.
It's a bit beat up, but not terrible. Actually gives it a nice road-worn patina. The pups sound surprisingly good. Initially, the bridge was weak and lifeless. A good 3-6db down from the neck. I noticed that Trey had her dialed down to the floor. I brought it back up a good 3/16. Maybe a quarter. She came alive. Different strokes.
My luthier friend looked her over and said the frets are decent. (He'll tweak 'em, but still good.) I love how this lays in my lap. That bottom extended horn is perfect for laying on your leg. This thang is going to be fun.
Now . . . what to put in her? :scratchch

Btw . . . did I say "thanks" Trey?
