NGD - It's kind of Special

Santa was very good to me

A new version of an old friend, it's a '96 with about zero playtime on it. Needs a real setup, a new ABR and some legit P-90's but I couldn't be happier to have it. Original owner swapped out the P-100's for Dimarzio Soap's and good God are they awful.

So happy!!!!

Propper! Double p's :) - I miss that guitar so much, I've never found it's legit replacement but I think this'll be the one once it's all dialed in. It has the same snappy sound and it just feels so right.

It's hard to describe how bad they actually are. Trashy isn't even the right term since trashy P-90's are generally pretty cool, harsh would be a better word. The guy who it came from got rid of it because P-90's weren't his "thing". These do not sound anything like decent P-90's much less good ones. They were screwed down really low and the polepieces were never even turned to adjust them. He'd pulled the 100's out as soon as he got the guitar and put these in, poor bastard never knew what a great guitar he had and he bought it new 21 years ago!

All win for me

Duncan P90-2 in the Neck and a Duncan P90-3 in the bridge are a real nice setup in my Dean P90 Z. They came out of a 1996 Hamer Goldtop Studio. Love them especially backed off to about 8.5 on all knobs of the guitar. YMMV. ;)

I ran the 1/3 combo in my old Special, not sure what is going in this one yet. My buddy winds a mean P-90, Gibson's are always great for me as well and of course I love SD-90's too
