It will receive it's mandatory Seymour Duncan treatment this weekend!
I'm not sure the A2 Pro is the best match since it's a bit too sweet, but I can't NOT try it at least right?

And the JB is a proven winner, of course. It loves Jacksons and Jacksons love it. :D

Def worth a try!! Some of my best tones have come by accident or something that shouldnt work!

I love my XLR, been curious about these. I have one of Indian made Warriors, and it's near level after a bunch of cleanup work on the frets and sanding most of that gel coat off, and replacing the trem with a legit OFR.

Frankly, the frets on this thing are mint. No such thing as rough spots like I mentioned, it was just factory gunk.
I sort of fixed the nut a bit with GJ's sanding paper trick, Duncans will be on this weekend, and then I might consider (eventually) a TonePros Tuneomatic/, graphtech nut and switch/pot upgrade to quality stuff.

That's all it needs for me, really. It won't replace a MIJ or MIA Jackson but it will be terrific as far as I'm concerned.

Dont get me wrong, there is no substitute for really good gear, BUT.. Many guitar co's "bargain" models are just a few upgrades (or a good set up)away from from being gig worthy.. Anymore, I see alot of guys gigging with guitars like this because, A) they are good enough, and B) too much risk in taking high dollar gear out..

Re: NGD!! Jackson JS32T Kelly!!

Fully agreed, BloodRose!!

I just installed the A2 Pro neck and compared to the stock Jackson pickup it's fatter, has wider midrange and the treble is less glassy.
Couldn't be more obvious, right? :D

Lower output, but thicker. Won't be mistaken for a Les Paul but it's a good sound that makes the dull Jackson bridge pickup sound cheesy, amateurish and one-dimensional next to it.
Sadly I couldn't install the JB because it's lead is too short - will take it for an extension this week and install it the next weekend.
I have the option of a ceramic or A5 magnet; I think I'll keep it stock for it's first attempt and I think the JB will sound a bit airy and de-congested here with Alnico 5.

Interestingly, the A2 Pro sounds a lot more tighter and composed in the bass than it did in my SZ.
Which should not be surprising, but I'm still impressed by the margin of the difference.
The SZ is set neck, fat mahogany everything and short-ish scale and the A2 Pro was borderline muddy at moments there. Not here.

So there you go. Improving my Jackson one step at a time! :)

Stock JB should be fine. The regular ceramic mod is also good. I have a RCUOA5 in mine.
