NGD!! Jackson JS32T Kelly!!

Pictures will be up soon (my cellphone is acting up a bit) but I can tell you it's in Viola Burst just like this one here:

Frets are a tiny bit rough in some already identified places, the neck is too straight from factory, but I'm taking care of all of this now because this is one fun guitar to have and play!
I've wanted a Kelly since forever, and I really needed a "Rock" guitar to keep tuned in E.
The pickups aren't bad, but I sense some Duncans in the near future here...

I just played lots of Metallica and Megadeth classics, grinning like a moron. Doesn't get any better than that!! :D :firing:

Those new Jacksons are like a good plastic surgeon having a great sale.. You get t!ts for very little money!! They aren't USA grade (obviously) but they are very nicely done and very affordable! Ive always wanted a Soloist, but due to the neck width, it wouldn't be my main player, so therefore not able or willing to spend full price for one. But perhaps one of these days, when I get in better shape, I can score one of these JS series ones and get my soloist fix without full commitment.

Man. If you ever buy one of these cheap Jacksons, POLISH THE FRETS STRAIGHT AWAY!
Mine had lots of residue and the rosewood was a bit dry. It went from OK to uber-fast and smooth with lemon oil, a rag and new strings.
I'm seriously impressed. You can tell it's built to a pricepoint, but it's surpassed all my expectations.

What a fun guitar to have around! The tone is very bity and attacking, definitely Metal oriented. Both pickups are ceramic, strident but still very musical. The neck pickup is surprisingly fat and chewy, yet tight and defined.

EDIT: Man, this guitar would freakin' love a JB bridge! The attack and natural tone has such a snarl that I just know it would work.

Throw a JB in that thing, grow your hair and get a tight perm and get your Marty Friedman on!!!

Re: NGD!! Jackson JS32T Kelly!!

I've always wanted:
A Dinky in Eerie Des Swirl (specifically)
A Kelly (any color really)
A Soloist (ditto)

In that order. Never had the chance, always sth else getting in the way/taking precedence. Not saying I'm not happy with my stable mind you.

In any case, Happy New Guitar Day man, enjoy her in good health! :headbang:

Really good-looking, but what is it with Fender and that fugly 3-way selector tip!
They used it in the USA-production Charvels as well.

Re: NGD!! Jackson JS32T Kelly!!

Yes it is. The price would make you think it's a beginner guitar... and it is.

However, it has most of the Jackson fundamentals (I owned a KV4) and if well setup it can be good for gigs, rehearsals and dicking around.
Not meant to be taken into a studio for recording or something, of course.

Sadly, all of the good stuff I've mentioned is downrated by the worst nut ever cut into an electric guitar. It's absolutely botched. And the plastic is kinda sticky? It's a ****ing nightmare.
This thing's getting a Graphite or Tusq nut next month.

Happy new guitar day! These newer JS32 guitars are a great bang for the buck. I've got a red King V with the tunomatic bridge. The pickups actually sound pretty good to my ears. I'm not running out to change them. I wonder what would be close in the Duncan line, a Duncan Distortion?

Re: NGD!! Jackson JS32T Kelly!!

I think most pickups you'd describe as having a searing high-mid crunch would be close to the stock bridge pickup.
JB or Distortion for sure. The stock Jackson PU has the mids just right but it's very thin. Doesn't need to be huge though, it fits the guitar's natural response.

The neck pickup is still a mystery to me. It's ceramic, but low output and sounds surprisingly un-boomy and crisp. It doesn't remind me of the Jazz or the '59 and I still have to listen to it a bit more.

I have a JB and a A2 Pro neck that could be very interesting on this Jackson here.
