NGD Martin CEO-7

Finally bought a Martin. Had really wanted a HD-28 and was dead set on getting one; however, a fellow shopper asked what I thought about the CEO-7 and after trying it out I couldn't put it down. Played several before buying this one, all of them sounded phenomenal.

Huge sound for such a small body, warmish mellow yet still bright tone with perfect sustain–harmonics and single notes sound like a tad of reverb while chords are not overpowering. Well done Martin for creating such an incredible guitar.

I hate it when the guitars won't let go

Hard on the wallet when yoiu finally leave

Bah,always better to get something you can grow into as opposed to just another piece...

'Zat a Mahog top?

'Grats again, certainly seems like a "Lifer"!

Excellent way of making me feel better about buying it! ;) Thanks dude!

It's actually Adirondack Spruce. My older iPhone is on the edge of being replaced...doesn't take the best pics.

Congrats! I'm not familiar with the model, how does it stack up sizewise and tonally compared to the D18/D28, 000 and OM series?

Thanks! It is one of the "Special Editions" where it was designed by the C.F. Martin IV as one of the CEO models.

It's a OO-14 Sloped Shoulder design. So ever so slightly longer body but tad thinner width than an OOO/OM 14 Fretter (same depth.) Compared to a D it would be overall a tad smaller and thinner all around.

Yep those are lovely axes. I have played two of them. Andrew Lamprecht on this forum bought one too.
To me, they are how a gibson would sound like if it were built by Martin.
Nice score.

Thanks! It works beautifully for me (except having to relearn how to play because I'm so sloppy now lol.)

Ha! It has a Gibson look to it, but better than any Gibson I've ever played (and I really like Gibson acoustics.)

Re: NGD Martin CEO-7

very nice! Its so cool when you make that connection.. I too like Gibson accoustics, but they sound so boomy.

Re: NGD Martin CEO-7

Very nice guitar! It's good you are happy with it's sound and feel...that is what counts. Congrats on your purchase and may you get many years of playing on it.
