Here is a crappy pic of my new minty 88-89 Fender Floyd Rose strat. One tiny paint chop on the neck pocket, otherwise it looks unplayed. Now the quest for pickups begins.
Nice. I have an 85-87 MIJ Strat (not Floyded) and it probably gets the most play time of any of my guitars for the last 6 months or so. It just sounds incredible.
No way, a Strat with a Floyd? A guitar like that NEEDS a Super Distortion. Got to pay homage to Adrian and Dave. I don't count the triple Hot Rail setup because I just find the Super D to be a much more iconic Maiden pickup.
Unless you want to be called Janick, then you can go for a JB Jr. I guess...
NGD! Plenty jealous, I've always wanted a Maidenized Strat.
I don't remember reading a bad account of a Japanese strat here yet. Not surprised if out there or some come later, but pretty amazing given the number of guitars they build and distribute that they've earned such a rep. These days the price of their guitars made in Japan are relatively good. They (Fender Japan) make many reissues also...lots out of the 60's.
I really wanted a 50's HRR, but those come up so infrequently on ebay and usually go for big $$$. I'm seriously considering the Maiden setup in a all black pickguard.
That is very cool. That guitar with a Tone Zone S at the bridge would make a formidable hard rock guitar. Maybe an Air Norton S at the neck too if you solo on the neck pickup.
Does it have an OFR on it? How's the neck, super slim? I've been looking for 'brothers' of my MIJ classic floyd rose strat for awhile, super hard to come by!
