NGD My First Post Here

The Washburn I posted about came home with me today. I'm loving it. The neck is really round even bigger than a 50s LP style and the pups are fantastic.

The El Diablo is amazing both clean and dirty. I played it through a 5w Marshall at the shop doing some rockabilly and country riffs just to see how it responded and it was clear as a bell. Run hard, this stays equally articulate.

Check out the neck joint on this thing too! I'm really psyched and can't wait to unleash this thing at rehearsal.

Sounds kinda funny you playing country and rockabilly on what was designed for a heavy metaller... I can relate cuz I have a WM526..

Re: NGD My First Post Here for NGD

Well I really don't plan on playing the guitar for roots styles (I have quite a few that do that). I just wanted to hear the guitar clean to check out the setup before bringing it home and the tones coming from the amp just made me lead to that style of playing.

This thing will definitely get into metal territory with my band and I think it will see heavy rotation for the next few months.

Thanks everyone

Re: NGD My First Post Here

This is my first NGD post which is what I meant to post. I'm so excited I submitted before editing.

I do post here a bit but now I get my 15 minutes to show off a new axe.

Re: NGD My First Post Here

I don't think I've ever even seen a guitar that shape before. S'pretty cool. Congratulations, man.

Re: NGD My First Post Here

That shape was the Dan Donegan Maya signature model. He is no longer with washburn tho..

Re: NGD My First Post Here

I have one myself love the neck on it and i have always dug the body style he came up with. I had to change the bridge on mine it was a little chewed up in the saddles so i put a Tonepros with the Graphtech Saddles on it(not in this pic though)

Did you get the one that was at Daddy's Junky, I was hoping noone would buy it so i could pick up a 2nd one LOL

Re: NGD My First Post Here

Dan's Washburn Maya is better looking than his new Schecter Ultra.
Congrats man, keep her in good health!
You don't see much of them around today

Re: NGD My First Post Here

I have been loving this guitar. It is so well balanced and the neck is just so round and beefy.

Yes, I did get this from Daddy's Junky and I can see why you would want a second one of his model. I did see that last year, there was a model with flames which would be the only thing I can think of to make this guitar better.

BTW did you adjust the old bridge before you replaced it? I notice that since it's really close to the string holes, that it's really hard to adjust without releasing all the pressure on the strings. There are also two allen screw slots facing the neck and I'm wonder what they do.

Yea the neck actually suprised me ay how beefy it was but very comfortable

I did adjust the bridge and had to slack the strings to do so, a pain but i bought a spanner for adjustments http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tools/Wrenches/ESP_Multi_Spanner.html?actn=100101&xst=3&xsr=7032

The two allen screws are for locking the bridge down check out the tone pros site for info, but basically after your adjustments tighten them down and you get no movement in the bridge.

If you think of selling at any point it let me know
