NGD New Blue Epi Day

ehdwuld

A Ficus
Check it out
As I said in previous posts,
I love my LPs neck and scale and I have been wanting an acoustic that played as easily

And I have an obsession with BLUE

Here it is
The Epiphone Hummingbird Artist in Blue burst

The box

The Beauty

The grain

Even the back
It really does no justice as the back is iridescent in the light

The tuners that will soon become Gotoh SD90s
But that will be a little bit.

The headstock

I apologize for the cell phone pics

Whoa!! Bring it! ..and don't tell anyone when you are coming. Bring a shovel if you have one.

Re: NGD New Blue Epi Day

Not what I was expecting!

Curious how it plays, I was thinking about an Epi Hummingbird or J45 as a campfire guitar.

Re: NGD New Blue Epi Day

Well I came strung with 12s
I got an extra light set of nanoweb Elixirs to go on it
10-47 set

I have one set of the phosphor bronze and one set of 80-20
I remember reading a review somewhere that highlighted the difference

But I can't remember which was which

Anyone?

Oh yeah and they are on sale at MF right now $189

I like it at the moment
I think it needs a bit of tweaking neck is a slim D not quite the slim C of my LP

Lighter strings and it should be great

IMO, 80/20 are brighter, phosphor bronze are richer.

Re: NGD New Blue Epi Day

I have used the phosphor bronze on all my acoustics for years
I think I'll try the 80-20 set
Worse that could happen is they sound bad and continue to sound bad 3 to 4 times longer

Sure will
I keep a lottery bag in the trunk
You know quick and ready incase me or one of the local cohorts win the lottery
Got my plastic bag. Rope, shovel, duck tape .
You know the essentials

Re: NGD New Blue Epi Day

OK so the SD90s and the 10-47 80/20s are on
The Gotohs were a learning curve but seem well enough
The box says they are 15:1 ratio
Tuned up nicely and are almost identical to stock green button Epi tuners

The Elixir 80/20s sound good, major improvement from the stock 12s
The stock strings sounded fine just were very thickabd hard on the fingers
The lighter strings didn't even need a truss rod adjustment so far

Que the McDonald's theme
