NGD Nylon nostalgia

I grew up playing classical guitar so I jumped at a good deal on this Ibanez. It’s a crossover in case I get cold feet and don’t feel like playing strictly classical again after giving it a try. So far so good!

Cool. My first guitar was a spanish nylon... But someone lost it.
As my next one is always an electric I can never play nylon string.

Just to say you were right :)

Have fun.

Re: NGD Nylon nostalgia

I use a 'crossover' Yamaha nylon, with a slimmer neck, cutaway, great pickup, etc, and it is super easy to play. I play it a lot and record with it often.

Re: NGD Nylon nostalgia

Thanks!

Yes, this one also has a slim neck etc for playability. For my album ages ago I recorded using a friend’s Chet Atkins but I didn’t want to invest a lot without seeing how much I use it.

Hopefully I also get to use it often!

That's a real nice guitar and it has a cutaway for better upper fret access which is a bonus. How much did you pay for that beauty? I took classical guitar courses back in high school for 2 years and after bought a Takamine Jasmine classical guitar for $500 with a bullet-proof case back in 1990. I love how wide the neck is and the feel compared to a regular guitar. Congrats on your purchase.

Thanks! I’m happy to say I paid $167 shipped with case and new strings. :)

I've got one of those too! GA5TCE isn't it? Neck is like 44 or 46mm at the nut, and the neck and scale length feel much closer to a Fender style electric. I got mine because my RSI made playing a traditional style nylon string too painful. the tone is a nice medium between nylon and steel string to some extent too.

Yes!

A pleasure to play.

Re: NGD Nylon nostalgia

Now all you need is a book on how to play classical guitar. I've used this book back in high school when I took classical guitar classes and is a must have.;)

I thought about it but I'm think I'm just too old to be so structured. I'm just playing the pieces I like :) I've started to work on the three finger tremolo which I never managed to do before.
