NGD (or new guitars week?) and End of Year Roster Update

Last Saturday, I snagged an Edwards LP custom from marketplace. I put Suhr pickups in it. The previous owner had EMGs in it. I forgot how easy LPs are to play. I like this one, a lot. The ebony board feels so nice. It's not heavy nor light either.

This Friday, the Tom Anderson Drop Top Classic I had on order arrived. This is, hands down, the best guitar I've ever touched. I've had 2 other Andersons before. This one smokes them, smokes my friend's Suhr dealer select, smokes that Murphy R9 Les Paul I tried, smokes the almost identical Rangka that I main.

It came out of the box perfect. As in to my preferences, and it's also the lightest solidbody guitar I've ever played too (swamp ash)

I also got a 2000s Tom Anderson for around 1.6k in September. It was missing a spec sheet, but an email to Anderson Guitarworks quickly rectified that

Anyways, here's the current roster @ year's end

Left, Front: Rangka custom S
Left, Back: Anderson Drop Top (with old style 4 bolt neck)

Middle, Back: Fender Mexican Standard P

This lineup is will probs remain unchanged for a long, long time

That's some gorgeous quilting. Love the color too. Don't particularly care for the light fretboard on this guitar. Doesn't go well with the darker blue color and it detracts/takes away from the white pearl guard. I would have preferred ebony.

Update:

The Suhr pickups didn't last. After 2 weeks and honeymoon was over, they began to grate my ears a bit too much. Maybe they'd work an a different guitar, but a custom with a maple cap and ebony board ain't it.

Got Seth Lovers in that guitar now.

Seths are always a good choice, especially if you rely a lot on the amp to shape your tone.

A slew of ampsim plugins so yeah. That fits. I'm liking the Seths a lot. Open, low output, has that "small" A2 character that sits just right.

I'm looking at the Les Paul.

We were obviously looking at different pics then. However, I DID say in my post..."quilting", "dark blue", "white pearl guard". Doesn't sound like I was referring to the black LP with ebony fretboard and black guard, right?
