I hand finish all my necks the day I get a guitar. I will start with 80 or 120 grit depending on the finish, then move up 220 ,320 ,400 ,600 ,800. Give it a good thick wipe down with Tung Oil (China Wood Oil) let it sit for at least 24 hours then scrub it with scotch brite pads grey ones are 400ish grit I think then 600 and 800 grit. If the wood is really dry it will absorb all of the oil and need to be done at least twice I have done 3 coats on a new neck before.There is something about Hard Rock Maple and Tung Oil it is smoother then silk. Bruce I did an install with a 2 point Babicz on my friends Strat Deluxe but this will be my personal first trem. I intend to beat the crap out of it with malicious intent.

Squire 60s CV MIC not much to write home about. Alder body , pups say Fender, hardware is junk but it is wired up nice and neatly Even at $120 bucks off I feel like I spent $100 too much on it , might have got something I liked better in a Vintage Mod IDK? Will tear out the wiring and install new bridge and nut tomorrow.
