NGD/Project

I got this Epiphone LP-100 on Wednesday for a great price on Ebay. I immediately tore it down and went to work repainting it. It started as a Heritage Cherry Sunburst but I'm not a fan so I flipped through the paint books at work and found this awesome tri-coat blue (metallic>trans blue>clear). I sanded and buffed the top when I took the pictures but the back needed some work (it's just black).

Next pay I'm getting all black hardware from Guitar Fetish. I already have the JB/'59 ready to go. I had one of these guitars back in the day and I really liked them, it had an 81/81 setup. This time I'm going passive (I already have the Blackouts in my LTD)

I found a place in Japan that does inlay stickers. I've bought 2 sets so far and they are top-notch (as far as stickers go). They have an blue albalone EKG that looks cool, it's two beats then flat-line.

Thanks guys. I love tri-coat paints but man are they a pain in the ass to do right!

Re: NGD/Project

So I had some problems with the back of this guitar and I had to re-spray clear on it. My work isn't open on Sundays so I went to the auto part store and got a can of DupliColor lacquer clear you put in a paint gun. I sprayed several coats Sunday then today I was holding it and my fingernail caught the clear right where the neck plate goes and it dug in without any effort. Upon doing some research I found out that lacquer takes days/weeks/months to fully harden. It's times like these that I'm pissed at myself for being so impatient and not waiting a day to use urathane that only take a day to harden. On the good hand I have to wait to get some money for the black hardware so hopefully by the time I'm ready to put it all together it will be dry. Lacquer SUX!
