I've always liked the Ibanez Roadstar guitars, especially the mid-80's ones that had binding and dual HB's (with sorta-kinda LP vibe to them). They hardly ever come up for less than 7-800, and if it's a Steve Luthaker or Gary Moore sig, than double that... plus I was never all that into tremolos, so when I saw this online, I had to try to grab it.

It's a mid/late 80's Hondo Formula, pretty much exactly like the Ibanez-es, except with a stop tail piece.
But of course, since I'm a dumb-a**, I bid on one on Ebay, got outbid right away, and figured that was the end of that. However, I was getting GAS and had to look some more for one, and found another one on Reverb (for less than the Ebay one, cool
) and "made an offer" on that one. Well, the Ebay one all of a sudden I was the high bidder again  and after that auction ended, the Reverb seller accepted my offer (which apparently means you HAVE to buy it...oops) so now I'm the proud new owner of TWO Formula "Roadstar" clones... :duh:

They're all ash (body and separate top) with a maple neck. The necks are nice and chunky, unlike a lot of Ibanez necks I've handled that were too thin for me. They're kinda thin-bodied, the top is carved like a Paul, and the back has a belly contour

They're real comfortable, unlike most "bound edged" guitars I try. Not real heavy, either. They both have (really faded) gold hardware, Grover tuners, a Schaller bridge and ...not sure what the pups are, but they sound nice. (Of course I want to change them, but I should probably pay for these first, huh?)

They're basically the same size as a Strat.
My wife and I have had a few "conversations" about my purchase(S), so I definitely gotta sell some stuff to pay for these. I can say I paid less for both of these, than I would have laid out for a "real" Ibanez. These are 99% the same as an Ibby (and probably made by the same guys in the same factory, out of the same parts) the main difference is the top is Ash instead of Birds-eye Maple, it doesn't have the "Power Rocker" trem (that I would have hated anyway) and the shape of the headstock. Which is bursted like the body, so it's not like you can read the logo anyway...
