NGD(s) x2

Thanks..I won't lie, they've been a whole lot of fun to play & share w/ you all in this way :bigthumb:

....& it's just a matter of listening some more and attuning your ears to the epicness :p

Here I explore the subtle nuances of the neck pup in a shreddy & neoclassical context once more w/ mucho epic vibrato :D

^^ Same amp settings/volume etc..

First plugged one guitar in, then plugged in the other..

Ash Vs Alder, ceramic pup's vs alnico, double- locking trem vs. Strat-style, Ibanez vs. Cort..

PersonllyI think they're both sweet shredding TONE machines :bigthumb:

I think you're misusing the term "epic". Did you mean "epoch"? In which case, you're still misusing the term.

Both guitars look and sound terrific, by the way.

Nice guitars. Didn't Cort factory build guitars for other companies like Ibanez and others? Like Maxon built pedals for Ibanez.

Thank you and yeah they build stuff for pretty much everyone..Ibanez, Dean, LTD, Jackson/Fender, PRS SE etc....they make all the lower & mid-priced stuff. Their own Cort Brand is always well made with better features than anyone else for the price...ie, great bang for the buck guitars . :bigthumb:

I used "Epic" appropriately imo....epic tone, epic sustain, epic looks, speed etc.

(* see how I slipped that naughty word in there at the end :lmao)

...and thanks, the odd bum note notwithstanding, they, along with my new Laney Ironheart amp) are definitely helping me "get back into the groove" as far as my playing goes after months of inactivity..:bigthumb:

...and yup, they're both pretty easy on the eye too.. :bigok:

Honestly, what is it w/ guy's on this forum taking everything literally all the time?

Reminds me of the time we were discussing the term "tone is in the fingers" and people were seriously suggesting "finger transplants" to prove that it was'nt ...sheesh
:nono:
'
This is "epic power metal ..as in the vibe is "epic" like an ancient Greek epic..let's say 'The Odessey' or "Illiad" or such like...it's the vibe man.. the whole heroic/majestic/larger that life thing those had going on..

On a side note the guy ^^ is playing an old black S-540 Ibanez Sabre just like mine. I love that axe :bigthumb:

Well, in that case...

You've definitely misused the term in regards to your vibrato!
(But I guess you could stretch it to refer to the amount/extent of your vibrato.

If I could make one suggestion (other than the poor use of the vibrato), I would concentrate on hitting the right notes. That would also actually help with the excessive use of the extreme vibrato trying to find the correct notes. Kills 2 birds with 1 stone, so to speak. :beerchug:

First off the the vibrato's great for what I'm playing ...it suits this sort of music just fine imo. Of course, that's subjective so feel free to hate. Also considering the number of notes going by I have a reasonably healthy ratio of good notes to bad notes..& truth be told, the bad notes , if any, are way to few and far between to affect the flow and don't really bother me in the least though again they might bother you, which again is your perogative :bigthumb:...

In the end ..they're new axes and I'm just having a bunch of fun shredding all over the place w/ them. If I hit a few bum notes the world won't end...

I have'nt played for a while and this is my fun way of getting back up to speed (if you'll pardon the pun there ) :D

^^ Having said that I'm nothing if not considerate, open-minded & accomodating :bigthumb:

So...

On a side note I tried some radically different settings on the amp that I saw guy use on YT. with the "Gain" & "Watts" knobs dimed on the lead channnel ..also "dynamics" up higher & less reverb, plus some slightly different EQ ...sounds pretty sweet. Give the notes more fatness, presence & cut. I can work w/ this..

While still being considerate and accomodating..I nudged the bass down a bit & the treble up ever so slightly...viola..smoother and less "jumpy/tubby" yet still well defined individual notes. I like these new settings :bigthumb:

You are correct...beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. And playing and having fun is really the main point. I'm sorry if I got too OCD about your style, which is absolutely a personal taste thing. Obviously it's not my thing, but my style shouldn't be projected upon anyone else.
I'm super glad you are happy and enjoying your new guitars. That's the way it should be and that's really the objective of this forum...to help everyone to be able to get what they want out of their instruments and be able to fully enjoy them. Like I said, they are beautiful guitars and the tone is terrific.
Enjoy, and don't let my negativity dissuade your enthusiasm.

Well, thanks again & I'm glad you see things that way. Like I said. I'm just having a bit of fun with my new guitars & some mindless shredding! If I'm doing some serious recording or something I'll probably play differently.. This just me enjoying the new axes & getting my rocks off (of which I will be doing quite some more here in this thread) :D

As for negativity, lol, can't say I don't have more than my fair share of it myself.

At this point in my life, pretty sure guitars & music are probably the only thing I'm still enthusiastic about :lmao:
