NGD(s) x2

And with my Charvel (Custom 5 bridge)..same amp settings...not a new axe but just cuz it's fun...

Meanwhile I just bought a Duncan Custom pup for the parts drawer 'cause I found one cheap online. Not sure where that's going to go yet (maybe I should get another guitar for it "laugh2:) but I'm curious to check it out. I love the Custom 5 ^^, it has a super-sweet vowelly sound for solo's & tons of great overtones plus a nice crunchy 80's-ish rhythm tone :bigthumb:

Phantasmagoria

Really enjoyed your posts in this thread. Thanks for sharing your experiences with these 2 excellent guitars in such a complete way. Loved your sound samples

Presumably neither of the guitars needed any Fret work . Unusual in this price range.

Cort have made and are still making nice guitars which ,as you say, are a good bang for the buck. I recollect reading that they moved their factory from South Korea to Indonesia with no loss in quality.

Thanks for that G string! Glad you enjoyed them...

Some people mistake my posting videos up for mindless shredding self-indulgence but that's obviously not the case :D

I mean if someone's describing a new axe & tells you it 'shreds' or 'sounds organic' or it's 'got sparkle', or 'chirp' or 'sweet overtones' or whatever that's cool for a general idea but nothing beats a recording (the more the merrier) so you hear it & judge for yourself what to expect, just like a picture's worth more than a thousand words ...& that's where I aim to deliver by being helpful and informative in the most practical way (clips) :D

The fretwork on both these guitars was flawless. no high/uneven frets/no sharp ends/ smooth tops, the works....nothing to complain about at all. The only thing I did to both of them was adjust the pickup height (Ibanez) & the angle of the bridges against the bodies 'cause they were both set up perfectly in E standard & I tune all my guitars a half step down. No messing with truss rods or frets or necks or anything.

Yeah the Indo Corts (or Ibanez's, which probably come out of the Cort factory) are excellent guitars. I really regret not getting myself an S series with the ZR tremolo when they came out ..they were stunning instruments in every way :bigthumb:

Though I did get a seven string Sabre (S-7420) still my only seven string. It played like a dream out of the box...

^^^ Which, for the sake of even more informative comparison,I just dusted off and jammed this with :bigthumb:

Amazingly it was still in perfect tune (after months if not a year or more of disuse...the ZR trem is insanely stable)

A week or so later thought I'd better check for any "drift" in the shred factor.....but happily there is'nt any :bigthumb:

It's still shredding like a mother :D

Having said that I'm probably going to have to lower the pickups a bit. They're a tad too thick/warm for the really shreddy stuff...

*BUMP*

Tried some of the new coated D'addario XT strings (9-42) on this beauty

Don't sound bad at all & they actually feel about the same as regular XL's too ..a hair smoother/stiffer maybe ..but it's barely noticeable unlike with the other coated strings I've tried.

Anyway, time to warm them up :bigthumb:

Neoclassical ballad w/ the neck pup & my Mooer GE300's Randall T2 Tone capture profile that I made with my T2..

Gotta say the Mooer sounds (& even feels) practically as good as my tube amp's. Been meaning to make a profile of my Laney Ironheart 120 but I'll have to look up how to again in the manual 'cause I've forgotten :smack:
