NGD. Schecter Omen 6 with Duncans

Saw this on Craigslist and couldn't pass it up for $160. JB Bridge and Jazz neck. I may even just remove the pickups and sell the guitar. Darn pickups alone are nearly worth what I paid for it. Like the Epiphones I just bought, I'll play it for awhile and decide what to do. Very cool for now though.

I love my Omens. I have four of them, and sold off all my Strats.

Any tips on getting it to play "easier"? Its a little buzzy on the upper frets, so I don't want to lower the action any. Don't know what gauge strings either, but I play 9s. These feel like 10s or 11s.

^ I'd say, first, string it up with something that's more to your liking, then try to adjust it for the action you want. If you're used to 9's, that should be a lot easier than a set of 10's or 11's.

It sounds like it might want the neck relief adjusting a little. There's a fair chance there're's too much there. Check the gap at the 7th fret when holding one of the strings down at the 1st and body fret (usually around 17th). The gap should be around .008" to .012", but I think you'll find yours to be greater than that, in which case the truss rod needs to be tightened. If on the other hand the gap is less, or even touching the frets, then the truss rod needs to be loosened. Remember though, only adjust 1/4 of a turn at a time, then give it a day or so to settle, then re-measure before adjusting again.

That too. Lighter strings put less tension on the neck will allow the neck to straighten and thereby reduce the amount of relief it has.
