NGD stumbled on to something good.

Found Classic Vibe Tele on Craig's list for $150. Sounds and plays better than any telecaster I have ever played. Don't know what the neck pickup is but it really does have great tone and wired for coil split.

Excellent score. The CV guitars are great bang for the buck.
The pickups are basically OEM Toneriders.

They are. Though to my knowledge there's no CV model with neck humbucker. Would be interested to know what it is.

Open 'er up!

Classic Vibes rule, and will probably be my way of adding a tele to my collection as well.

Those are great guitars to mod, too. Congrats!

Not going to open up. Sounds great:bridge is crisp and bright, perfect country twang; neck is full, rich and not boomy or dark; and happily the two mix excellently firing out a broad tonal range with each note clear and pronounced even when getting into overdrive and distortion.

Re: NGD stumbled on to something good.

Had one of those 50s CV pine bodies. Far better guitar than price would dictate. Neck just did not work at all for me.
