NGD, The LAST NGD, I present to you, Irish

You know, I did, and I'm really on the borderline with that. I think I'm gonna try and stick with the chrome though. It's a Standard, after all.

is it a standard? says classic on the trussrod cover, not that it matters really. im sure its a sweet guitar!

Classic, Traditional, Standard - whatever. It isn't a Custom.

Single ply binding, trapezoid inlays, is a standard, by any other name.

Two things I did was add a poker chip to the toggle, and I switched out Speed knobs for Gold top Hats.

Plays awesome. Needs just a very little setup tweaking for my tastes

It has Gibson 57's in it, but those will be departing in a month or so.

What is going in?

Neck - Zebra Pearly Gates
Bridge - Zebra Custom Shop Pearly Gates wound to 9.1-9.3k

My Les Pauls all have SuperD's and Distortions in them. Even my GEM has a Custom SP3 P-90. Well, my The Paul has T-Tops, but I'll lose those at some point too. This is my PAF Paul for playing everything.

I still need a strap, but it is going to be plain brown leather.

That guitar is gorgeous and zebra pickups don't look bad on it. great choice with the PG and custom shop bridge PG. while I was scrolling to this post I was going to suggest a slash set.

is it a chambered body? I hope Gibson stop that.

Nice guitar!

Congrats! I hope you don't have to sell any Telecasters to pay for it.

The finish reminds me of the Anaconda Burst LP Empty_Pockets bought years ago.

I feel sorry for you.

Play a Sabre sometime ..and you won't :bigthumb:

Nice guitar!

To the best of my knowledge - not that I care on many of these points:

Body - 9 hole weight relief. Have not weighed it. Don't care.

Finish is Nitro

Nut is Graphtech - Again, cut well, works, no bind. Again, don't care. Bone, Tusq, whatever.

60's neck medium-jumbo frets. A bit of a change from my 70's low-wide LPs.

No taps on the pickups. Big Orange caps in there though.

I'm replacing the black covers on the back with cream (on the way)

for your last guitar you should care.

life is too short. you do know it's a fixed bridge and you're fussed about the nut.

poseur

You do know that a poorly cut nut, especially on a 3+3 headstock can result in binding during bends, right? Perhaps not.

But that is an easy fix/adjustment.

I'm pragmatic and a functionalist. If it works it works. I do not obsess over the uber-minutae. Play the damn notes and rock on with your bad self.

I've never been a fully gibson lover for THAT G never in tune for at least a hour, but I've found a luthier able to finally cut the nut right for my LP special and no more issue about , that said, yes , in a Les Paul a nut must be made with much care

Not a hard fix at all. Most people can probably do it with an old wound D string.

However - At $2k+, and Gibson absolutely KNOWING this is a thing, every freaking one should come with this as a build feature/QA step. Not a hit/miss post purchase.

Of course, as mentioned, I don't buy new and can adjust this myself, so don't care.
