NGD! Tom Anderson content...

Picked up this beauty a few days ago and I'm totally in love! It's a shame that they had to discontinue them due to Gibson's lawsuit threats :thumbsdow . The HC1/HC2 pickups sound good, but they're very focused. I'm thinking about a few pickup combos to give it that Les Paul growl and thickness. I also need something that splits well. What do you guys think out of yet following:

WLH set
Slash set
Slash neck/WLH bridge
Custom 5 bridge/PG neck
59/Custom Hybrid bridge/59 neck
Antiquity JB & Jazz set

Any other thoughts?

I am very intrigued by the WLH set so I will put props up for that one but also think you can't go wrong with the Antiquity JB/Jazz set either.

Cool guitar for sure but w/o knowing the guitar it's kind of hard to nail it.Any of these would probably work for me

Custom 5 bridge/PG neck
59/Custom Hybrid bridge/59 neck
Antiquity JB & Jazz set - - are the Ant's 4-wire?


C5/59 with split would be my first choice

the wlh set splits well and sounds good. im an alnico II guy but they are really nice pups. especially the neck pup!

Just because no one's said it, why not an Alnico 2 Pro combo?
Sweet looking guitar, never even seen a Tom Anderson in the flesh.

Thanks Jeremy...that's the set I'm leaning towards. Good to hear that the neck pup is awesome...I was concerned about that and was considering an APII instead.

I can still see the Bulldog on his site. Also, since PRS WON the appeal, Gibson has little choice but to accept these kinds of singlecut designs. Just take a look at Charvel's high end singlecut.

that being said: pretty guitar! I'd go with the antiquity humbucker set (paf style set). one of the best sets I've ever heard.

Thanks...I still can't put it down? Do Ant's come in 4 conductor as a floor shop custom? I wonder how they would split...

oh darned. that's a bummer.

Ant's don't come in 4 conductor but you can easily mod them to have 4 wires (and if you order them from a dealer, they can do that, too, but doing it youself is so much cheaper and faster and frankly damned easy).
