So this beauty arrived in the mail today:

And next to her older sister:

Such a pretty headstock! That carved heel too...

But of course I am no fan of whoever Matt Heafy is, nor do I play metal that often.

I had a Pearly Gates, my favorite neck pickup laying around that I had taken out of an older guitar. To give this guitar a bit of attitude too... Dimebucker in the bridge for those moments when I don't need her to sound so sweet.

And all buttoned up. Tonepros chrome bridge upgrade and I'm still waiting on the rest of the parts to complete the aesthetic aspect! I will update when they arrive.

I like how "I don't really play metal" was immediately followed by "so I put in a Dimebucker." :D

Nice guitar though, that heel looks snazzy.

Re: NGD - Unique One Here!

That's a great guitar. Congrats. Matt Heafy was one of my favorite players when I was learning to play. He's in Trivium.

Re: NGD - Unique One Here!

Cool. I love Customs that are converted to chrome/nickel. Pearly Gates is also my favorite neck humbucker.
Give the Dimebucker a chance for awhile, but I have to say I'm chomping at the bit to try the new 12K Perpetual Burn humbucker in a LP. I'm hoping it's a regular priced pickup, not Custom Shop.

Very cool guitar. Heafy's one of those guys where I've never gotten into his music, but he seems like a really cool guy with a good taste in gear. I saw a video where he got some guitar lessons from Petrucci and he just sat there smiling the whole time as he picked up licks and talked to one of his guitar heroes, it was really fun to see.

I get a great classic rock sound with my Dimebucker it has enough power to break up your amp without a boost pedal. Split it sounds amazing. It sounds fantastic for any style of rock. Beautiful guitar by the way.
