Just got it from darnright, and I was apprehensive about offing my AC30, but with my Plexi, and this, I don't think I will miss it THAT much. If I do, I'll just build myself one. Anyways, USA Hamer Artist Custom, what an amazing guitar. I see the cheap Hamers at the local shops, and this is absolutely NOTHING like those. This beastie rivals Gibsons easily, and coming stock with Duncans is a major plus!

i'm usually not a fan of the double-cut style visually but that looks like a nice axe.
what pickups are in that one?

I've gigged a couple times with a guitar exactly like that, down to the finish. Sounds and plays incredible, and the weight balance from the body shape is awesome. Stock Seth Lovers in there, or are they/will they be changed out?

Nah, some cash coming from me. (still an awesome deal!) And yes, the Seths are staying put. Pretty much the whole thing is remaining stock. I might put a PIO cap eventually, but it sounds phenomenal as is.

Hamers are sweet instruments. I don't own any, but every one that I've ever played was a beauty.

Congrats. Beautiful guitar. What year? First digit is year. Tell the first three numbers and I can tell you if you dont know. Hamer's motto at one time was "The Ultimate" I think you feel why. This card came with Hamers back in the day but still works well. I LOVE the Hollowlead setting for Bluesy or ripping single note runs.

I miss the old Hamer Standard I had around 1985, sunburst with crown inlays and gold hardware. It was one of the 6 digit ones, I think an '83. Heavy guitar 10lbs + but just as well balanced as my e/2s

Someday....

About 5 years ago, I bought an 80s Vector flametop V for $200 but I just could not get along with the ugly headstock and ended up parting it out. The korina body was refinshed natural and crappily so. Played nice though, came with double cream Dimarzio's

I've had a Hamer for years. They're incredible guitars, but unfortunately don't get the attention that PRS gets.

That's a great acquisition. Congratulations!

How is the neck ? Is it big - fat - or not so much ? I have a 2006 Studio Custom, (which is the solid model) and it's neck is big. In fact that stopped me getting into it for a couple of years. But then i started playing it more and realised it's so great to play, I don't even notice the size of the neck; the playability seems to take the neck profile right out of the equation.

They are great guitars, the best of everything from the wood selection to the finish and all points in between. And it shows.

How does it sound through an amp ?
