NGD, V...icious

My old band is coming out of our self imposed retirement and is gearing back up for a new album. I knew sooner or latter it would happen, wanted a different sound for us this time around so it was time for a couple new axes. Picked up a B.C. Rich Jr. V Deluxe with a Beast headstock. Came perfectly setup, low and fast with almost zero buzz. Ebony fretboard, real floyd rose, paua-esque binding, knobs and inlays, all the metal guitar goodies. First time around for me with EMG'S, they're not bad, I wish they had a little more top end but I'll eq that in latter in the signal.

It's been years since I've had to tweak one out for a completely different setup so it took me a little while but I ditched the .009-.042 for a set of .011-.052 heavy bottom NYXL's. Opened it up and reset the trem then started getting it into C# standard, re-adjusted the bridge and pickup height. These strings hit tune faster and stayed put better than anything else I've ever put on a floyd and sound damn good. Anyway I'm a pretty happy camper right now. It's funny how a new guitar can open up new riffs and influence style. So without further ado here it is, "Bumblebee", named for the perfectly preserved gigantic bumblebee I found trapped in the bubble wrap when I opened it.

Nice!! Congrats x 2! (new axe and band reforming) rock the heck outta that axe!! I dont know how big your battery cavity or regular cavity is on that axe, but if you have room for an extra 9 volt, I suggest the 18 mod. Im not a big EMG fan, so when I had a couple guits with them, I did the 18v mod. Opens the tone up some

Thanks! It's small but I'll look into that mod. I have a battery shop really close that has everything under the sun in stock so I may pick their brain on possibilities, thanks for the tip.

Re: NGD, V...icious

its really easy if you have room. I just went to radio shack and got a pack of 9volt connectors and wired them up to connect 2 into one. Im sure I found the wiring diagram online. maybe on this forum.

Lol no. It was neat looking, probably from Asia too, almost all black and a size bigger than what I've ever saw here. I just pitched it while my kids called dibs on the bubble wrap.

Re: NGD, V...icious

I put a set of NYXL'S on my 7 string. Super stable, love 'em!
