NGD: Warmoth 7/8 Warhead Mahogany w/Flamed Redwood Top

Got this in on Saturday, so kinda a belated NGD. Warmoth 7/8 Warhead body that is a 1 piece Mahogany+Flamed Redwood Top, loaded with a Pearly Gates in the bridge and a Phat Cat in the neck, Schaller bridge. Warmoth 7/8 Warhead neck that is Mahogany+Ebony, 9.5 Radius with Stainless Steel frets. The 7/8 Warhead has 24 frets and has the "Gibson" 24 3/4 Scale.

This guitar is a tone monster! Hard to describe how it responds–feels Les Paul and Stratish...if that makes any sense. This thing loves my Hot Rod Deluxe with some Reverb and a Treble Boost. As far as the pickups are concerned, I don't know why I waited so long to try the Phat Cat and Pearly Gates...I've been missing out for too long!

Shout out to Jolly for introducing me to Thane–I had never done binding before. The guys up in Tennessee did an incredible job on the binding and nitro finish. Thanks again Jolly!

You are very welcome, my friend. I was wondering when you were going to post about it.

I can definitely tell that last pic was taken at Thane's. How many other old Marshall heads did you see sitting around? lol

Thank you very much kramersteen! I thought it was business in the front and party in the back? ;)

Dude... that thing is SWEET! I've toyed with the idea of Phat Cat + Pearly Gates in my head a few times myself, good to know it works!

Congrats!

That is Awesome Bro!!! Visually and spec.. I know what you mean about that scale and all. One of my FAV guitars is a 1990s Grover Jackson era US Washburn. MG130 Stevie Salas sig model. Its basically a superstrat shaped LP. Set neck, mahog body, maple cap and 24'75 scale. Plays like butter and has more bark than snap due to the shorter scale. Rock that thing in good health!!

Congratulations, that looks like a killer guitar! I have a couple of Warmoth 7/8 S's (one of them a superstrat) and they're great. Play it in good health!

Thanks man! I HIGHLY recommend the combo! Really incredible combo...can't say enough about it!

Thank you so very much! Wasn't familiar with that guitar so I looked it up, sweetness! See, I have a love/hate relationship with Les Pauls...love the tone but never jived with the body and necks. So yeah, the Gibson Scale and dual humbuckers (well, technically H/S as its a P90 in the neck) on a Strat is something I really like! (I believe the Charvel Fusion had the Gibson Scale as well...?) Thanks again!

Thank you! This is my first 7/8, I'm pretty stoked with it! Not for everyone but I love it!

Thanks!

I'm not a fan of superstrats, but thats an exception........especially the hardware/cosmetics.

Great build.

Thank you so very much! I really appreciate it! I was initially going with black hardware but I think the chrome with black accents turned out well enough. Thanks again!

Wow looks mighty sharp!!!

Thank you so very much!

Thanks man! She plays better than she looks!

Props again to mrpinter, that chrome decal just completed the guitar!

I agree. Maybe it's just because I'm used to seeing some sort of logo on a headstock, but without always looks to me like it's missing something!

Looking good! :fing2:

I agree, I prefer a logo on guitars...but one that is tastefully done.
