NGD - what should I name her? :D

Re: NGD - what should I name her? :D

500k pots

I never used A8 mags couldn't tell you. I don't care for JB's much as I've tried.

I also used a 59 in the bridge in the Eclipse and that worked really well too. I like the Eclipse a lot but I couldn't get with the x-tra jumbo frets and I didn't feel like re-fretting it.

Gotcha, I actually really like the frets (6105s so sayeth the spec sheet) so until I wear 'em out I'll keep 'em the way they are.

My opinion;

Name - Janey P

Bridge: 59 (option for more juice, 59/Custom hybrid)

Then….

Wire that thing up with 300k Gibson pots, and do as much of the Jimmy Page wiring as possible!!!!!

Then put a strategic cig burn on the top, and rock & roll it like a black dog at the battle of evermore just before the levee breaks because she will be a heartbreaker, and don't even think about letting the livin' loving' maid even dust near it!

I think the pots will have to be the first thing to get changed and then everything will be adjusted to taste. I like the '59/Custom but it's still a bit on the bright side. We'll see what happens though.

Re: NGD - what should I name her? :D

I went through the guitar's guts tonight and to my surprise it's got 500k B-taper pots which if I'm not mistaken are log taper.

You are mistaken (did nobody catch this?) B is linear, A is audio/ log taper. I can't stand audio/ log taper and try as best I can to put everything linear. 500 does explain the brightness though, especially with a JB. I've always like 250 in everything, but I know many will disagree.

:naughty: She's a beaut', ain't she?

ESP Eclipse in Aged Honey Burst. '59 in the neck, JB in the bridge.

The LTD vintage black EC1000 was a nice axe for what it was, but this is just on another level. I have to get it dialed in to my specs but dam sho' is nice!

Plus now I don't have to take crap from people for owning an LTD anymore. :D

VERY nice!!!

I've owned 9 Ltds and 2 ESPs (Eclipses). The Eclipses were definitely a level above, but I did a lot of "damage" at gigs with those Ltds as well. I'm currently rocking three Gibson LPs, a couple of Fender strats, and a Tom Anderson Drop Top. But I'd NO problem rocking another Ltd or ESP if one spoke to me or the moment called for it.

Re: NGD - what should I name her? :D

Just FYI, this guitar is for sale because I need to throw some money at a car purchase I just made, and plus after I got this guitar I kinda stumbled into a PRS and I play that guitar more anyways.

She's pretty and has quite a nice voice, but she's gotta go. I ain't too upset, tho.
