This is belated but I have had a lot going on lately.
I got 2 new Gibson Les Pauls recently.
First a new Gibson Les Paul 60's Tribute in Cherryburst. It is a lightback 2011 model that was leftover stock at Wildwood. This guitar is very lively and vibrant unplugged. It is slightly lighter than my 50's Tribute at 8.01 lbs. The top is beautiful. Birdseye throughout the top and when you look close, there is light flame all over the entire top. I'll take better photos later that showcase this. It currently has no pups in it, it will be getting the mini-hums out of the Deluxe in the next few days. Since these shots I have added an amber switchtip, and replaced the knobs and TRC with the ones from the Deluxe (gold speed knobs and "Deluxe" TRC). This one is becoming a Deluxe replica (read on for more explanation)
Second is a 2012 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop. This is my favorite guitar hands down. Gorgeous Goldtop, light colored mahogany on the back and neck. This LP is simply stunning. Less than a pound heavier than my two Tributes. Fit and finish is perfect, setup is spot on out of the box. Plays like a dream and sounds incredible. It is very loud unplugged. I have a Tundratone harness on the way for it with CTS pots and Luxe Grey Tiger caps as well as some Duncan Antiquity P-90s. A 56 Goldtop is my dream LP and this will be pretty much a spot on replica (aside from the neutric jack). Here are a few pics as well as a few group shots of the LPs. It now has gold reflector knobs with pointers and a blank TRC.
