I've alway's loved my Sabre's ...but never played one of these before:


Ibanez SA160FM - BBT



..until I walked into a store the other days and jammed for a while on the trans-grey version of this guitar...what a sweet player! Great finish ..killer tone & a neck like BUTTER! I ended up ordering one online (for $100 less than they quoted me at the store :lmao


Which brings me to my next online purchase... :firedevil:



...another Tobacco burst...a Fernandes Vortex Pro. This one sustains for days (literally..haha!). Yeah...I've always wanted a V ...& a Sustainer ...so this was a no-brainer!

They should both be here sometime next week...more to follow

Both for a bit more than it would've cost me for the Solid State Orange CR-120 that I'd ordered (and finally cancelled for non-delivery last week) in December last year...before I bought my Cicognani Brutus Live head (which has pretty much killed my GAS for the Orange head anyway :lmao

I had one of the 160s with the H/H config and just a plain mahogany (sapele) body. I picked it out of a whole bunch of other more expensive "super strats" in the shop. It just had a great woody tone and really sang. Needed some new pickups and that was it. I sold it someone here on the forum, but I cannot recall who, It was about 10 years ago.

Can't wait for them to get here..the SA was hell of a player & not just for the price. It was also a lot chunkier (thicker) than I'd expected one to be for some reason. Almost as thick as an RG & the weight felt just right.

Never been a fan of the classic (rounded/Gibson) V shape...but always loved the pointy's!! The only problem was, everytime I've played a V I've always been struck with how uncomfortable they are to play standing up. I've come so close to buying one on so many occasions (MIJ RR3's mostly) but always walked out with something else instead. This time I thought I'd just go for it lol...the Sustainer was too cool to miss out on...just buying one off the shelf costs nearly as much as the guitar haha & I've wanted one forever
