NGD: Yamaha Pacifica 812W

Got this guitar in yesterday. It's a Pacifica 812W. I got it for a crazy good price. No fret wear at all. One bad nick on the front of the body, but other than that it's in great shape and looks barely played. Whoever put the Lace pickups in also replaced the volume and tone pots and the switch with quality stuff. So far I really like the Lace pickups. I need to get the nut filed and a proper setup done, but so far it's awesome!

Very nice indeed. Yamaha makes some very underrated guitars. I have an old Yamaha HH strat from the mid 80's. I refinished it years ago and it was my number one player for several years. It's one of those "never get rid of" guitars.

I hope you like yours just as much.

I got it for $129 plus tax and shipping so it was around $160 total. Score!!!

I plan to get the nut filed and setup next weekend. The Lace pickups are pretty good, so I have no plans to change them.

I used to have 2 604Ws a few years ago when I was gigging in Cyprus. Very similar specs with the Wilky trem and Sperzel locking tuners. I'm pretty sure that the 812W had Duncans fitted originally.

I think you're right about it having Duncan's originally. I have a 604W also, that I'm going to be putting different pickups in soon and getting it ready to gig with. As soon as I get the nut filed on this 812W and set up it's gonna be ready to rock.
