Got a used Baja Tele today! Payed just slightly more than what a new MIM Standard costs around here. It plays like a dream and looks brand new. Serial number should place it in 2013. The pickguard was warped, but the dude in the store threw in a Fender custom shop bakelite pickguard for less than 1/3 of the price. I'm a happy camper with my first ever Fender!

The heavy grain on the bass side gives it some character too.

Way awesomer than through the Blues Jr i played it through in the store.
The neck pup is kind of weak, volume wise, compared to the bridge tho. I should raise it up a few mm, but my only screwdriver is a bit loaded one, and it's too thick to reach the screws for the neck pup. :P

I sure am! My initial plan was to get a Standard and modding it. Seeing as I don't have to anymore, my tax return just got available for other stuff, like finally getting my Epi LP up and running (and getting a nice hardcase and strap for the Tele).

Oh, you pay a lot more than that. You'll forever wonder who owned it before it came into your possession. You wonder if they treated her right, if, perhaps, they were a better lover.

Do you plan to mod it some day, anyway?

Yeah, saddles, string tree and stuff. Maybe pups if I want a new flavor.

That is a sweet guitar. If you're not accustomed to Telecasters the darkness of the neck pup is hard to take. When you get serious about tweaking rout out the front cavity and throw in a P-90 and add a four-way switch. You won't regret it.

That blonde finish is awesome. It is definitely my favorite for the Baja.

Naaaah, I want a classic style Tele. And I get plenty of P90ness from my SG Special. So far I'm liking all six sounds, except from the neck volume dropping a bit (gonna raise the neck pup a bit as soon as I find a screwdriver that fits in the cavity...)
Haven't experimented too much with the S1 switch yet, but those sounds seem cool too.

You're treating every thread as though it were some no-topic 'Sound Room' thread. You contradict the notion that SDUGF has anything to do with guitars or pickups. I think Seymour Duncan Co should just kill the off topic forum altogether. There are more suitable forums elsewhere on the net for rambling about nothing. All it does it give you cause to loiter and stink up threads in which you have nothing to contribute outside whining about me.

Gratz, op. Looks like a great looking guitar! I'm hoping you don't have a problem with those non matching body woods. That stuff aggravates some people..... not me though. Twang as a mofo!
