NGD!

Re: NGD!

That's exactly the sort of Telecaster I want for my first one. I played a great Japanese Fender that a friend had once, and it was reasonably hardcore vintage. It made me think, "This is what a Telecaster is all about." It made it really clear to me that it's more than just another indistinguishable bolt-on solidbody, only without an upper cutaway.

Re: NGD!

Gratz, op. Looks like a great looking guitar! I'm hoping you don't have a problem with those non matching body woods. That stuff aggravates some people..... not me though. Twang as a mofo!

Also just ignore drex, he's a debbie downer. "Meh you paid too much meh buyers remorse"

off u see did MRSAge, I m on tapa talk and auto correct is hating on me

Oh whatever man you think you're so cool with all your ''jon and art'' in your name. My brain needs a massage i think.

Re: NGD!

You're treating every thread as though it were some no-topic 'Sound Room' thread. You contradict the notion that SDUGF has anything to do with guitars or pickups. I think Seymour Duncan Co should just kill the off topic forum altogether. There are more suitable forums elsewhere on the net for rambling about nothing. All it does it give you cause to loiter and stink up threads in which you have nothing to contribute outside whining about me.

Re: NGD!

Got a used Baja Tele today! Payed just slightly more than what a new MIM Standard costs around here. It plays like a dream and looks brand new. Serial number should place it in 2013. The pickguard was warped, but the dude in the store threw in a Fender custom shop bakelite pickguard for less than 1/3 of the price. I'm a happy camper with my first ever Fender!

The heavy grain on the bass side gives it some character too.

That guitar is so classic. I am green with envy.

Re: NGD!

Wow... Way to ruin my thread, random jerks...
Anyway, the used market in Sweden is pretty bad. That Baja was a steal, IMO. And the non-matching wood gives it some extra mojo.

Don't worry about those guys bro! You have a great guitar and that is all that matters! I really liked the Twisted Tele neck pickup when I played it... It sounded awesome through the Mesa Rectifier at the shop.

Indeed, it's a really smooth pup. But as I mentioned before, I gotta raise it a bit to better match the bridge volume.

Re: NGD!

If that is all you need to do, then you are set! It might make it a bit more snappy for you too. What to do you think of the 4 way switching? I am used to the typical 3 way configuration, but I liked what it offered. My favorite spot on Teles is in the middle mode (bridge and neck) and that guitar delivered great tones there too; and the best part is that you get two options of mixing the pickups, parallel in position 2 and series in position 4.

Re: NGD!

Series made it growl. Really useful tones there, especially with my Blues Driver kicked in.

Yeah buddy! It is a rocker for sure. Do you have a way of recording some clips? I would love to hear you put that Tele through its paces :headbang:

That pic really reminds of Laughing Kookaburras Avatar.

This reminds me of the people who hear about something Howard Stern said and demand he apologize. If you don't like what's going on in the Off-Topic Room, don't go there! No one is forcing you to click! And if you think the entire room is dedicated to you, you severely overestimate the forum's interest in you.

Sorry to derail, OP. Nice Tele.

"Reminds you of", and yet is wholly different in concept.

And if you think the entire room is dedicated to you, you severely overestimate the forum's interest in you.

And yet, here you are, derailing a thread on my account.

Sorry to derail, OP. Nice Tele.

Complain about me, tell OP he has a sweet guitar. Story of this thread.

I've done this 5-way switch for several of my Tele's, more options than the typical 4 way mod and it uses a common Strat super switch:

The thing that bothers me about series is that it's so much louder than the single pickup positions, and that the in between B+N sound isn't frequently used with high gain, like if this were Les Paul scenario. So I don't use that option much, but I like that it's there.

Coolio, but the Baja got 4-way and S1 switch for phase. Could be useful if I mod a Tele in the future.
