Re: NGD
Cool, you need some knobs man.
I know.. Havent decided on what I want.. I really dont want the metal dome knobs like before as they are just so plain looking. Something with a bit more class and style
Piranhas inlays, nice! Dig the reverse headstock too.
took me a bit to get used to the new inlays but I dig the look
thx everyone.. All the parts arrived at my house in an undamaged condition... Never bought a guitar body or neck through the mail.. so i was really worried it would be damaged but the seller really packed it well..
Assembly of the guitar was painless as well with the only problem was the G string I put on was bad as it would not intonate.. Never had that happen from a fresh set of strings EVER
Overall the guitar plays fairly well and as good as any guitar you would get from a store. Been really getting better at setups. action is ~2mm at the 12th fret/6th string which is perfect for me. Action is a appr. the same as my #1 DK-2 . Maby a tad higher. The neck is pretty nice but still prefer the DK2 neck over this one.. The DK2 neck is a tad thinner and is noticeably flatter
Im pretty stoked that the cavity came out pretty well and am really glad the control cavity, was such that is was literally perfect for an added battery cavity.. I always tend to get motivated for such projects at 2am high o'clock.. LOL.. Padding was new and came from what is packed in AC units which worked out really well. Originally.. I was just going to add a piece on the bottom and on the cover but this way is better I think
Next project id like to do is a custom warmoth body(1 humbucker.. quilted top..Floyd..etc) with a jackson neck, with the same profile as my Dk2. . Pickup would be a TTop clone with black metal cover, thats overwound a bit
I just need 1 or 2 more guitars..and I really want the next one to be newish with a really nice finish
