Re: NGD

I like it
After playing Jerry's vintage Gibbys
I have been hankering for one badly

the low frets and action made Jerrys way to easy to play
I had always heard this about Gibsons but this was my first experience of any amount of time

I'm Smitten

been looking thru the Sweetwater site at the semi hollow Memphis Gibsons

so wanting one

how does it play compared to your Jaguars and that Delonge thing you had?

All I can say is that this felt like home right away, and the shortcomings of my previous guitars were very glaring after setting up my les paul.

Re: NGD

I see that thw WLH set is made out to be a more "balanced" and less "muddy" set. I've read about it "cleaning" tones because of it's distinctive sound.

the problem there is that I play an ac30 amplifier. I'm worried the sound will be too thin.
Thats a gorgeous axe.

on WLH's....they sound the opposite to thin. They will sound epic thru an ac30.

You will be like....wtf did gibson put those godawful things in this beautiful guitar when it could sound this good right out of the factory?

I'm actually plugging into a little marshall 1x12 at the moment.

Re: NGD

It does look very similar to my JP model. I have a Brobucker/ PGn A4 floor shop neck and it rocks. I do sometimes think about a WLH set but I can't. Bring myself to change the current set out.

Just need to get another LP for a WLH set to go along with it!!! Problem solved.. haha

That is such a beautiful guitar. I am so glad to see that Gibson came to its senses for 2016

As a recent WLH convert, I can say that my next guitar will be a new LP and as soon as I get it I am yanking out the 57s and putting in WLH.

That being said if you like the way it sounds now with the 57s, who can say? I have 57s in another guitar and they sound great. I think the 57 sounds a lot better in the neck than the bridge, personally.

But WLH, it's like they made it just for me....

I've been playing a range of styles on my Les Paul that i had not tried previously, my God, what versatility. It's insane. Thank you for the comments on the beauty of the guitar. I cherish it, I think I got lucky with the top. I like the neck 57 classic but the bridge gets muddy and hard to understand with higher than average overdrive/distortion. It's as if it just doesn't cut. I can compensate on the amp but I wish that cutting quality was the guitar's and not the amps.

Re: NGD

Consider one of blueman's proverbial magnet swaps. A2 out. A4 or UOA5 in.
