Re: NGsD - Ginger or Mary Ann?

Did you have any of the troubles mating the neck and bodies that has been widely reported?
I have to say those are excellent looking instruments

Did the fret ends need work?
High low frets?

Thanks! [emoji2]

I had to shave a little off of both to get the necks to fit. I expected that for Mary Ann, as the body was a factory clearance buyout and I had already seen that the pocket was slightly smaller than the heel. On Ginger, though, it was a little disappointing since they had said it would fit any of their necks.

Interestingly, Ginger is also the one that's giving me tuning and intonation troubles. In fact, I'm taking Mary Ann to practice tonight, but Ginger is staying home because she's just not ready yet... and the only things on her that I DIDN'T get from GuitarFetish are the knobs, the pick guard, the end pins, and the mini switch.

Fret ends felt pretty good, but I didn't really check for highs and lows... maybe there ARE and that's why I'm having issues! :dunno:

Well, Mary Ann performed admirably at practice tonight. Those Dream 90s sound really good! Now both of the new girls have been put to bed (had to take down 2 acoustics until I get around to putting up more hangers!

I just can't quite grasp this......:laugh2:.... wot ?

"Ginger", Mary Ann" and "Mrs. Howell" = references to Gilligan's Island, a silly 1960s TV show.

Sorry about the size of the photos. Not sure how to change that?

Re: NGsD - Ginger or Mary Ann?

Well, spent a little quality time with Ginger and got the tuning stability figured out. It was my nut, but nothing that a little light filing and a dose of silicone lube didn't fix. She stays in tune great now... even after using the XTrem!

Also had to make a couple final adjustments to the truss rod as the neck has settled in... but this gal's a player now! VERY pleased!

Re: NGsD - Ginger or Mary Ann?

Okay, I was holding off on mentioning this little feature on Mary Ann cuz it wasn't working at first. Turns out the reason was a ground wire that got too close to the mini switch... it's pretty tight in the control cavity!

Anyway, I installed a MidBoost/Wah MODBoard from GFS and it's cool as hell! I see myself using the boost fairly regularly, but the wah is just plain fun!

Good PS work. Very professional looking. Makes me want one. Or both. :bigthumb:

One vote for Ginger.
But then, I'd always pick Ginger.

Re: NGsD - Ginger or Mary Ann?

Without a doubt #2 is better HOWEVER I have to agree with others....that piece of vinyl is simply ruining it. The guitar is too nice NOT to fix that.
