i just want the neck, i love the deluxe necks with the chrome fender logos...they look better IMO and play great!! that guy pats-guitars tends to have cool stuff like that i almost bought his last tele he had up bt he pulled the auction b/c his son wanted it lol...a bit pricey though as you said.

....and I may be in the minority here but I find that cut of Koa to be butt-ugly.

. I'm also not sure about a non-pickguard tele, maybe I'm TOO traditional though

He might be able to get someone to pay that price if it was a Fender Custom shop job or something.
Did some research on it.. You could put that exact same guitar together by yourself for between $900-$1100, Fender Deluxe neck and all.
