I thought Duncans and Dimarzios were brass plates. At least it looks like brass to be. As far as nickel, I saw some pups on a website, seems like BK stuff, but I may be wrong, and they were using nickel plates.

G Grandturk Guest Mar 31, 2010 #8 Re: Nickel Vs. Brass Nickel is a plating. i.e. Nickel plated brass, nickel plated steel. You never see anything actually made completely of nickel. I think its too soft.

On one of those "How it's Made" shows, jet engine turbine fins are made out of the stuff. Supposed to get stronger as it gets hotter. I used to think of nickel as being soft too.
