Nigel Hendroff (Hillsong) sent me a pedalboard pic!

So, went to a Hillsong concert last night here in Louisville and Tweeted out to the lead guitarist (Nigel Hendroff) that i was trying to get a look at his pedalboard. On the way home i get a tweet back from him with THE pic!!!

AWESOME!!! Doesn't get any cooler than this for me! He is THE guitarist for the genre of music that i play and a Pedal nut like myself. Pretty cool of him to take time out and send it to me!

That's a ****ing awesome board but man, does that look awkward to use. Some of those pedals are so cramped together I can't imagine my big dumb feet managing to not turn on three or four at a time.

Really nice of the guy to do that, too. Cool move.

And this is why I shouldn't post before coffee. I think I actually absent-mindedly wondered what 'that big pedal thingy with loads of wee switches' was. :banghead:

I think my next pedal purchase is going to be one of these two...haven't decided yet...but i'm realizing a lot of the stuff i play has an octave thing going on, plus it fills out the sound nicely! I'm definitely going to be bumping up in size from the Pedaltrain Mini - to the JR.









His tones last night were HUGE...so thick and present in the mix...incredible really!

Mike, have you noticed how many Duesenburg guitars are showing up on the platforms of groups like Hillsong, Jesus Culture, and Gateway Worship? I wonder if it's just a trend or whether it is a promotional move on the manufacturer's part.

Did you see any last night?

They're everywhere, not just in this genre. I usually see old guys playing them. They must have one hell of an artist relations team is all I can say.

haha...yeah...that's all he played last night...him and ben fielding played nothing but duesenbergs. ben played an acoustic now and again, and Nigel played a Uke on a few songs as well.

Droff played these two...Starplayer TV and a Rebound Stoptail

Goes to show you that no matter the size and prices of pedals on a pedal board... you can still create cheesy music.

I wasn't aware that "cheesy" means that which has had world wide influence.

it's all good...nothing like dumping on someone's thread...when they are talking about one of their all time favorite bands and players.

i like a lot of stuff that is probably considered cheesy.

fact is...the songs have literally changed my life...seriously.

I'm a fan of his tone and his chops. Hillsong definitely has a unique sound. I feel a lot modern groups in the same vein fall short of what they do in both music and lyrics.

Was this Hillsong or Hillsong United?
