No complete song this weekend, just an intro.

I like it. I would personally reccommend trying a little something with the bass at the beginning instead of just hittting the C. Maybe do a couple of little climbs or something. Maybe the riff you hit when it comes in distorted?

Thanks guys! :) I hear one change that I'll make this weekend (going to shorten it by 4 bars). Plus, I have to come up with the rest of the tune! The end chug always goes into a Master of Puppets riff (Master! Master! Where's the dream that I've been after?) in my head, so I'll have to be careful not to end up ripping it off. :p The bass will change with the next riff, but I wanted it to sound kind of like a bell tolling for the intro.

Re: No complete song this weekend, just an intro.

Still working on this one...it's being a PITA. Got a nice chorus worked out, & redid the distorted riff. The posted version is 2 heavy guitars panned left & right, with the arpeggio line as a third track down the middle. That didn't work with anything else I recorded afterwards, though, so I kept the left channel track, ditched the right & center tracks, & redid the arpeggio part panned hard right.

So that's going OK. The tough part is, I came up with a pretty cool verse riff that doesn't work in the context of this clip! rrrgggggghhhh I really want to use it, but it just sounds like ass. Going to have to save it for something else. I think the issue is as big as I build the intro riff up, I'm not getting anything to work well after it. Dammit dammit dammit!

Oh well. The pains of art, eh? ;)
