No logo Duncans?

Hey guys! I recently bought a crazy-assed 1970's Japanese short scale guitar, and it has two pickups in it which the owner claims are original Duncans. There is no logo on either pickup, but both have the usual white rectangular sticker. One says "59n", which I gather is the '59 neck, and the other is a single coil with "5R" on the sticker. Does anyone know if they're authentic and if so, what model is the "5R"? Thanks a million guys!

If there's no logo and all there is is a sticker (that anyone can make)... that's suspicious.

5r would be an SSL-5 wound by "R"... The single coils don´t generally have logos on the baseplates, so you´re somewhat safe there.

Does it say 59N (capital letters maybe in red or black/blue ink)? Then its end of 70ies or beginning 80ies Duncan.

We have up to now only a very rough timeline for humbuckers!
These are my best guesses:

1. no backlogo, small tag without winder initial from late 70 up to ?
2. no backlogo, small tag with winder from ? to 1983
3. big backlogo without MiA, small tag with winder from at least 1983 to 1988
4. small backlogo with MiA, small tag with winder from 1988 to 2002
5. small backlogo with MiA, large tag with SN and Model from 2002 to ?
6. small backlogo with MiA, large tag with date from ? to now

BTW Iam looking for a 59N from this period to compliment my 59B. If you are willing to sell it or swap (i have a big stash of Duncans) please drop me a line thru the PM.

I think you have a '59 neck (these only have logos as an option) and an SSL-5. Check that link that Zerberus posted. The SSL-5 is quite distinctive as it looks like a vintage Strat pup from above the scratchplate but underneath is different with the oval baseplate and one wire coming out of each end (if I remember correctly).
