no one really talks about the full shreds here?

Re: no one really talks about the full shreds here?

Interesting Stuff here.

I just think that this is one of the hidden giants of SD's humbucker range (along with the Blues PA Trem, Demon). Very adaptable to different styles.

However as for cleans? ... that's why I have a '59 in the neck slot. I find that medium to high output humbuckers really suffer for clean sounds. Not saying the FS sucks for cleans but it has to be used right or else it doesn't sound great

And for recognizing other FS users here ... well I have this chip on my shoulder that there are a lot of myths going around about the Full Shred that are either incorrect, the product of vicisious rumours (SD cancelling the Full Shred was one), or cases where the Full Shred was mated to a guitar it really didn't belong in ... so I kinda like to check on the herd if you will ....

Heh heh...a conspiracy!

Yeah, well, what can I say? I like the FSb in Swamp Ash...it rules actually. I think you're right with the cleans, but I was so suprised how 'present' the clean tone is...it's strong but still has some...beauty to it, not too harsh.

I think that lots of people are turned off by the name of the Full Shred. If they'd called it 'Full Blues' or maybe even 'Full Grunge' it would be selling like hotcakes!!! :)

the FS wasn't conceived to sound immaculate clean. if you wish to acquire just that, then there's the Jazz/ '59 to check out. the FS responds well with overdrive- the reason i bought it...
