Noiseless Quarter Pounder tone?

I love the Quarter Pounders in the neck and middle of my strat but I just can't get over the noise. Does anyone know of any pickups that will get me close to the output and tone without the hum? It doesn't have to be a Duncan.

Your best best is some Bill & Becky Lawrence Strat type.

They might also be able to put the bigger magnets into one of their pickups.

I believe schaller has a hum canceling version of the S6. The S6 has the same aesthetics as the QP. If you want a full humbucker then you would want the GFS Bigmouth.

That sounds like a great idea. So what's the actual Bill Lawrence site now?

Why don't you have the custom shop build a stacked Quarter Pounder? I plan to get a couple myself someday.

Is the buzz on a QP significantly louder than a stock Tele PU? That's my ONLY fear with a QP. Normal single coil hum doesn't bother me...just wondering if this particular hot pickup is buzzier than others.

I've used them, and I did not think that the noise was an issue. Great pups, one of my fave SCs in a Strat bridge.

All other things being equal... yeah, a little. How much depends on a number of factors. You'll never completely rid a single coil of 60 cycle hum, but proper shielding goes a long way into keeping the buzz reasonable. The QPs in my tele clearly hum like all single coils do, but there's no excess noise or buzzing. Fully shielded, my QP loaded 50s RI is quieter than stock (stock pickups, unshielded).

It is quite a bit. But if you generally aren't bothers with the hum it won't kill you either.
