I love the Quarter Pounders in the neck and middle of my strat but I just can't get over the noise. Does anyone know of any pickups that will get me close to the output and tone without the hum? It doesn't have to be a Duncan.
I believe schaller has a hum canceling version of the S6. The S6 has the same aesthetics as the QP. If you want a full humbucker then you would want the GFS Bigmouth.

Is the buzz on a QP significantly louder than a stock Tele PU? That's my ONLY fear with a QP. Normal single coil hum doesn't bother me...just wondering if this particular hot pickup is buzzier than others.

All other things being equal... yeah, a little. How much depends on a number of factors. You'll never completely rid a single coil of 60 cycle hum, but proper shielding goes a long way into keeping the buzz reasonable. The QPs in my tele clearly hum like all single coils do, but there's no excess noise or buzzing. Fully shielded, my QP loaded 50s RI is quieter than stock (stock pickups, unshielded).
