Anything else to declare? :naughty:

I managed to leave my jumper on an airport trolley in Heathrow - does that count?

Nice, so where did you go shopping Chris?

Re: Not content with the Guthrie Govan Masterclass, I went shopping...

Andertons; as far as I know, they're the only UK dealer for Victory Amps so far, and they were organising the Guthrie Govan event.

Did you get to see the event? I saw pics of it on FB. Also do the victory amps anything like the Cornford amps?

I did see it. Guthrie is a very entertaining guy. He played through the V10, V30, V50 and V100 in turn. All of them sound as if they are very much of the same family. I can't do any sort of comparison with Cornford; I never played one, but as Martin Kidd was involved with Cornford, it's difficult to imagine that plenty of ideas didn't carry over.

Man I've been GASing for a V30 Countess ever since their inception. It just sounds so organic and rich. Plus I've been wanting to get a smaller lunchbox head for smaller gigs and jamming with my mates where my big rig is impractical.

Ok, so does Guthrie have an endorsement? I think the Anderton guys like to support any product that Martin Kidd has any involvement in.

Re: Not content with the Guthrie Govan Masterclass, I went shopping...

I think he must do. He was involved in the testing of the V30 out on the road for smaller gigs, and said he uses the V50 when he's with the Aristocrats

Re: Not content with the Guthrie Govan Masterclass, I went shopping...

Congrats! That's quite a haul...

Really liked the clip that Andertons/Chappers did of that head.... sounded sweet!

Re: Not content with the Guthrie Govan Masterclass, I went shopping...

Well, if you're going to go in, then go deep...

I met Capt Lee and Chappers in the bar before Guthrie did his bit. Think they were somewhat impressed with the distance I'd travelled to get to it - Lee was saying he'd thought a guy from South Wales had come a long way. They came across exactly as they do on the videos. They were telling me to listen out for how well the new Victory 1x12" sounded during Guthrie's set - and they were right, it did sound excellent. A pair of them with the V30 would make for a very nice mini-stack.

Cool. I'd be tempted to check them out in the flesh but unless my Cornfords crap out I'm not going to give myself GAS as Martin designs and makes killer sounding amps! As for Mr. Govan he is just unbelievable.... And so humble with it.
