Hey all.

I've read the forums for a while but I haven't posted much, so it's nice to meet anyone who comes in.

I'm in a tonal situation with Alnico 2 tones in the bridge position.
I have a Les Paul equipped with Seth Lovers and a korina V loaded with a '59/Custom Custom setup, and I'm playing through British amps (Oranges mostly).

I really like the tonal character of both the SL and the CC but my issue is that I'm looking for something in between.
Something not as bright as the SL, but not as dark as the CC, and in the middle in terms of output as well.

I've read good things about switching out the A2 for an A8 magnet in the CC but I wanted some input from some members who have had experience the tonal realm that I'm swimming in.

A8 will give you a different tonality than the A2 in your CC, only you will be able to tell if you like it. Personally, I find A8 to be harsh in everything that I have tried it in. APH1 or a slash may be an option. I thought the CC sounded like a hotter, and more compressed APH1.

i don't know how it would compare to a seth lover, but an A2 59/Custom is a kickass pickup

an a2 patb3 would be right where you want it, if you can deal with the look

Hmmm. I'm intrigued by the UOA5.
What kind of experience does anyone have with it?

I agree. Try an UOA5 in your CC. It is halfway between a CC and a C-5 and Sounds fantastic in my SG with a 59neck pickup. The best thing about it is that the magnet swap will cost a small fraction of what a new pickup costs. Addiction-Fx on Ebay was where I got all my magnets if he is still there.

The Perpetual Burn is great too, but I bet the 59 would sound too big and boomy compared to it. The Dimarzio AT-1 is another one in that ballpark.

It'll be the first time that I swap a magnet out.

I know where to find them, but I want to make sure I get the right one.
Is the UOA5 typically 2.5" and rough cast?
