Novice Questions for OLP Bass Modify

Hello everyone and thank you for this great forum.

I have an OLP MM3 5 String Bass and I would convert them into active. I think they do but I would like to know if anyone has any tutorial to make the change.

And another question

With SMB-5a or 5d and an STC-3m3 preamp the configuration is always active or may be passive to save battery?

welcome to the forum!!

when you buy the pup and electronics it will come with a wiring diagram.

the bass is always active when there is a cable plugged in. ive put active/passive switches on basses with those electronics but the battery is still active even if the electronics are bypassed

My question is more on how to make room for the battery on the bass, if someone can give me some tutorial.

Has anyone proven the X-BAT external battery?
Does it work well?

im guessing that there is enough room under the pickguard for the battery
