Now my BC Rich sounds better then a strat.

Well, my EMG60n/EMG89b came in today and i had them installed, treated the neck, polished the frets, did a full tuning job and lowered the floyd rose into the guitar a little. This thing will make ANY sounds you can think of, it sounds better then a strat! When the guy got done installing em he played on it a little, then turned me me and said "You have made a BC Rich strat" lol. Its that good, just throwing the word out cause im sure not many people know how good that combo is. Btw, its still "Warm" but still has the clearness of a EMG, but not as sterile.

I'm confused...why would you WANT EMG's and buckers period to sound like a strat?

Ultimate Versitility. No other pickup combo can match the versitility i have gotten from them. I can go from blues, acoustic, metal, shread, classic rock, folk, hard rock, 80's rock, you name it, itll do it as good as it can be done. And i like EMG's clarity, im not a big "warmth" guy, but thies pickups are warm for emg's.

And the reason you can nail the strat sound is the 89 in the bridge sence you can split the coils with a push pull pot.

Same here.

If the dude told me my EMG equipped BC Rich sounded like a Strat, I'd reply, "After you reinstall them CORRECTLY it won't!" :laugh2:

I'm glad you're happy with them, though :)

well, it sounds like a strat after dialing in the tone knob, and the volume pots, then pulling the pot to split the coil. You can make it sound like anything, if i played with it for awhile i might even get a half assed tele sound.
