NPD Fulltone Ultimate Octave

Well I finally got this pedal and i'm so glad... I basically found everything I have been looking for in a fuzz pedal.

The octave up mode is good but very bright so I don't see myself using too often but the fuzz on it's own is perfect. It nails that flutey smooth sustaining QOTSA sound and is just play fun to play.

I got to crank it through a JVM half stack and play with a band and it cut like a mofo for once and never got muddy unlike most other fuzzes I have used. I'll mess around with it tomorrow through my setup to get to know how the fuzz and tone knobs react to eachother as I think it might cut too well in a mix if that makes sense.

I should also note I had a Stone Dead PDF-1 set for FAT clean low mid boost on the whole time so that helped the pedal stand out a little more and sputter and cut amazingly. BIG fan of this one and blows the big muff right off my board. Still kinda wish there was another tone knob for the octave side but you can't get everything in one sometimes

There ya go!!!

I know you got that Dano pedal and had some issues, I was going to suggest the UO as it is a much better built clone of the old Tone Machine but didn't know if that was in the budget.

I am no fan of Fulltone stuff but the OU is a great pedal for some stuff.

The octave up sound does take some time to get used to...neck pickup and roll your tone control down a bit to get started.

Good luck and have fun!

thanks !!! So far I'm loving this pedal

Not sure why Fulltone Discontinued it because it is such a versatile great pedal, the tone knob has a huge range IMO and the fuzz is everything I could ask for...thick tone on the high strings without the woofiness of a big muff!

Re: NPD Fulltone Ultimate Octave

Quick recording I made at really low volume with a 80 dollar USB mic...not too shabby, you can really hear the thickness on the high strings during the single note part and the overall fat fuzz tone
