NPD I love delays.

I picked up a boss DM-2W a few days ago. All I can say is wow I haver never an original DM-2 but this pedal is one of the best delays I have owned. The the standard setting is nice and warm but not too dark. The custom setting adds more than I thought it would. It doubles the delay time makes it a little brighter and increases the out put level. Switching between the 2 modes is like having 2 different pedals.
I know it's not as feature packed as the TC, pigtronix and eventide pedals I have owned. But it's sounds every bit as good. Sorry about the pic I do not have a good camera right now.

Re: NPD I love delays.

I've been very interested in this pedal since they announced it. I don't like big, feature laden delays. I love a nice, simple analog delay like the Carbon Copy or the DM-2. I'm sure one of these is going to find its way into my quiver at some point.

Re: NPD I love delays.

damn you.
this is not helping my analog delay gas. I just did a recording session and the engineer decided to add some "in the box" slapback echo while mixing and it sounded super cool.
plus im going thru a boss fanboi stage at the moment.
The only pedals I'm using at gigs are either a vintage sd-1 or a waza bd-2 plus maybe an old cs-2 compressor.
I was hoping you would say it is a disappointment! lol

Ok now the nitty gritty....
I noticed that the MXR carbon copy changed my basic sound quite noticeably even when the controls were all on zero. How does this one go?

Awesome! Wish I shared people's love for delays but just never really got into them. lol Enjoy!

Re: NPD I love delays.

Thanks guys I haven't noticed a big change in my tone. There may be a small amount but the buffer in the boss pedals seems to work pretty good. There are characteristics I like about both modes. But so far seem to be leaning more toward the stock one. So far the DM-2W is up on my list right under the empress tape echo I had.
