I stayed with the stock Gibson P-90's, they both read 8.7-ish. I think the neck read 8.72 and the bridge read 8.78. I fell in love with this guitar because of the sound so I wasn't really looking to change them. When I took the guitar apart i didn't realize the volume pot had a crack in the wafer plate so I replaced the stock 300k with a 500k which gives the bridge a bit more edge than it had stock.

Reason I asked about the pickups is I have a DC LP Special p90. I LOVE the neck pickup but the bridge is just a tiny bit harsh. I know thats the p90 “thing” but I’ll probably end up swapping it for something warmer at some point. I tried lowering the height and I helped a little bit.

That's funny I cranked mine up pretty high relatively speaking.
I prefer my bridge pickup to be a little hotter than the neck maybe even a lot hotter but these 2 go together well. I couldn't find a bad place to set the neck pickup the bridge took a little more effort to find the sweet spot. I have them set so they're both pretty even output when switching between them. I should probably measure these things and keep a log:dunce:

This is one of the guitars that Gibson did with the see thru rear cover plates, it is tinted but not some much that it isn't easy to see thru. The rear plate was really scratched up, so much so that it was no longer see thru and I wasn't sure what to do with it.
I had one of those Turtle Wax headlight lens clean up kits left over from cleaning up the wife's car and thought maybe I'd give it a shot. First I washed it so there was nothing lingering on the surface and went to work. Other than a really deep scratch that I would've had to sand out pretty aggressively it did a great job. I also used it on a pickguard from another guitar that was total crap and it did a nice job on that as well. I have the sealer to use when everything is done or you can use a synthetic wax.
