I have had my loose flubby fuzz needs covered but needed a high gain tight distortion for awhile now and santa brought me the goods. I got an MI audio Super Crunch Box!
To be honest I was not expecting much after watching the demos online, just sounded like a basic Marshall in a box pedal but with the lo and high gain switch and compression switch it has so much versatility and has internal 18 volt operation off a 9v adapter so the headroom and dynamics are crazy!
I plugged it in, set the gain to 1 o clock and the volume the same , high gain mode with compression 1 and it was a snarling tight chunky distortion reminiscent of the band Silverchair's Freakshow album in particular "Slave". It turned my clean 1966 Traynor YBA-1 with greenback cab into a JCM 800 cranked! I love it and seriously recommend it. I also got a zoom h2n so I will record some clips of it and post it here in the near future.
Hope everyone enjoyed Xmas and feel free to post what you got!
