I used to be a multi-effects digital type guy, until recently when I abandoned this for a guitar straight into amp approach. However, lately I've been gassing for some new effects. I really wanted to get a real tube tape delay/echo, as I feel it can serve many different purposes. So finally I pulled the trigger on the Fulltone TTE!
You can get a really nice tube sound into the amp without coloring the tone too much. Also, I found with the input volume turned up, it can drive the front of the amp really nicely. Cleans up with picking or guitar volume and just reacts to touch and behavior just like a tube amp. Additionally, the delay is just so natural sounding. I've been really enjoying it with a nice slap-back. It can be set up with really subtle echo and tones, or with a over the top type repeating delay signal. Right now, I just leave it on the whole time, and everything sounds fuller and great with the TTE. Its an expensive unit, but seems to be high quality in build and sound. If you are creative it can replace a few other pedals, and do things that no other pedal can. So far its great!
